Pattern Book: Delphi Cottage
DELPHI COTTAGE is an example of Greek Revival, a form of architecture so popular in early nineteenth-century America that it was known as the “National Style.” The design features a paneled front door with narrow sidelights and an enticing front porch supported by fluted Doric columns and capped by an articulated entablature. Large vertical 6/6 windows downstairs and a string of frieze-band windows with Greek-key design above allow generous light. The house boasts a large living area downstairs with great room, kitchen, breakfast room, and laundry room as well as a bedroom suite complete with garden tub, shower, double sinks, and enclosed toilet. Two options are offered for the second floor. The first features three bedrooms and three baths with a flex area in between. The second features two bedrooms, two baths, and a flex area.
